Understanding Commissions

The real estate commission is an amount, usually a percentage of the property sales price, which is collected by a real estate professional as a fee for negotiating the transaction. There is no standard commission rate. Commissions are not set by law, but are negotiated, and may vary depending on services, customer needs, and company policy. In general, agents charge between four percent and eight percent for a variety of services, some of which include:

•Marketing - We will create a custom marketing plan for you using knowledge of your local market and proven techniques in local advertising.

•Getting ready to sell - We will work with you to make your home as appealing as possible to potential buyers.

•Counseling Service - We will represent you and your interests with reliable guidance through the entire transaction.

•Negotiation - We will negotiate on your behalf to help you get the most favorable price and terms, and will work on your behalf to successfully close the sale.
